About the festival
The year 2020 marks our 12th year, and our 18th film festival.  To date, we have shown over 700 films, and presented dozens of awards.

The 15 Minutes of Fame indie film festival is for films that are no longer than 15 minutes, produced anywhere in the U.S. We welcome entries from all 50 states, and will accept narratives, animation, documentaries, web series, reality TV, PSA's, and commercials. Awards will be presented after each block of films in numerous categories.

Our venue in the beautiful HOLIDAY INN - VIERA CONFERENCE CENTER, located just north of Melbourne,  in Brevard County, Florida.  Brevard County,  which is one hour east of Orlando, is known as Florida's SPACE COAST.  The NASA/CAPE CANAVERAL visitor's complex, home of the SPACE-X launches,  is a short distance away, and the BREVARD COUNTY ZOO is literally across the street from us.  We are located right next to I-95.

At our film festival, admission to all shows is FREE to everyone who wishes to attend.

History


The 15 MINUTES OF FAME film festival was founded in 2009 by Ray and Migdalia Etheridge,  who enjoy watching (and making) indie films. Ray worked in television as a full time cameraman/editor for over 30 years, working on everything from game shows to soap operas.  In the past few years, Ray and Migdalia  have produced over a dozen feature films and several shorts. This 2020 indie film festival is the 18th that they have produced.

Do I need to send you a DVD of my film?
No. If you are notified that you are an "Official Selection", we will request an H-264/MP4 from you, which you can send to us via Dropsend.com , Wetransfer.com, or Dropcanvas.com. Please keep your file as small as possible. We will transcode your film for our show reel. Send your film to rayandmigdalia@yahoo.com

Will I receive festival "laurels".

Yes. All filmmakers will receive their laurels by email.

Where is Viera?

Viera is in Brevard County, Florida, approximately one hour east of Orlando. Our next door neighbor is Melbourne. Interstate 95 runs through the center of Viera, and our screening venue, HOLIDAY INN/VIERA CONFERENCE CENTER, is right next to i-95 (Exit 191).

Do I need tickets for the screening?

No. All shows are FREE, so tickets and reservations are NOT required.  Feel free to invite as many guests as you wish, and don't forget to announce your screening on your facebook page. 

Will you introduce me to the audience?

Yes, filmmakers will be called to the front of the room after your film runs, and you will have a brief opportunity to talk about your film.

How should I dress?

Casually and comfortably.

Do you have a formal award ceremony?

No. We announce, and present awards after each block of films.  Winners who are present at the screening will receive an award certificate, and winners who are unable to attend will receive an "electronic certificate" via email, which can be printed at home for your entire cast and crew. All winners will be posted on this website the day after the festival, and will receive appropriate "winner" laurels via email.

Can someone else accept my award for me?

Yes.  If you wish, that person can also introduce the film.  Please have that person request the award from us so that you are assured of receiving it.

How are winning films selected?

We have a panel of five judges who carefully screen each film numerous times. Films are judged on a point system for their technical merits, script development, acting, and entertainment value. Films with the the highest scores become "Official Selections", and are screened at the festival.

Can you hand out publicity materials for me?

Yes. We will have a table set up for publicity materials such as postcards, business cards, mini-posters (11x17 or smaller), and souvenir items.  You can mail your items to us (about a dozen pieces will do), to:  Ray and Migdalia Etheridge, 200 Santa Martia St. SW, Palm Bay FL 32908.
